Day 28, Saturday, January 28

I started a new class today.  I am taking the Copic Marker class at Scrapadoodle.  Once a month, I will learn some new techniques using these very amazing markers.  It was fun to sit and color and I can't wait to use this new technique on a card!

Day 27, Friday, January 27, 2012

Got a Starbuck's postcard in the mail, again.  This is proof that Jim is so addicted to Starbuck's.  Stacie will get to use this card.

Day 26, Thursday, January 26, 2012

This is an experiment.  I read somewhere...can't remember where...if you seperate the bananas from the bunch, they will not ripen as fast.  I usually buy, 2 ready to eat, 2 with just a little green around the top and 2 that are mostly green.  I usually eat one a day.

Day 25, Wednesday, January 25

Sawdust in my grass...evidence that RB Construction is back in my house!

Day 24, Tuesday, January 24, 2012

I finally got this frame up!  The "S" is a bracket from a street sign, the "M" is windows from a building downtown, the "I" is the sunset in St. Pete Beach, the "T" is the cross on the top of the sign at our church and the "H" is the smoke stacks on the river front in Peoria.

Day 23, Monday, January 23, 2012

X Games Medalist, Matt Wilhelm presented a program for our students today.  He is a BMX Flatland rider with 2 national titles, 3 medals from Xgames and a silver medal from the World Championships.  He is a college graduate of Milikin University with a degree in marketing and a minor in music.  He has traveled to Korea, Portugal, Brazil, The Czech Repbulic and Japan.  He is best known as the fastest BMX spinner.  He jumped over 3 adults, Mr. Goss, Mrs. Jackson and Mr. Mooney.  The students loved the program!  The assembly was a reward for reaching our fund raising goal for fall 2012.

Day 22, Sunday, January 21, 2012

Well, my desk doesn't look so good right now.  It will get better.

Day 21, Saturday, January 21, 2012

These pens are so cool!  A parent wrote a note this week and used the purple pen. Of course, just being purple made me happy...however, there is glitter in the ink.  When she came to pick up her daughter, we asked where the pen came from and she told us Wal-Mart.  That was my first stop on my list of errands today!  (I think I will have to go get another package for backup!)

Day 20, Friday, January 20, 2012

Oh YES!  Rascal Flatts concert tonight!  Once again...Amazing!  I rarely go a day that I don't listen to them singing...in my car, on my ipod, on the radio or cd player in my scrap cave!  Hunter Hayes was a great opening act as well as Sara Evans!  We had a great night listening to some country music!  (Thanks to my Canon Rebel...I got lots of pictures to choose from!)

Day 19, Thursday, January 20, 2012

Today is National Popcorn Day!  I have been buying the 94% fat free Orville Redenbacher's pop up bowl for a while now.  1/2 of the bag is 3 pointsplus!

Day 18, Wednesday, January 18, 2012

New hot water heater installed today!  I think our house has become the money pit.

Day 17, Tuesday, January 17, 2012

This is how my desk is going to be set up.  I still have lots of work to do...but I think I am going to like it!

Day 16, Monday, January 16, 2012

I loved this quote.  I needed a long skinny "something" in the bathroom next to the medicine cabinet.  I bought it at Kohl's and it fits perfect!

Day 15, Sunday, January 15, 2012

Here are the cubes!  The top of the desk is on the floor and I am trying to get them arranged so they can be attached to the desk top!  Thanks, Jim for helping me get them all assembled.

Day 14, Saturday, January 14, 2012

I am sorry to say....this is all of my scrapping and stamping supplies...all over the place!  I have moved those metal shelves from the right side wall to the back wall.  The brown desk is going out of there and those "cubes" I bought are going in as the base for my desk.  I can't wait!

Day 13, Friday, January 13, 2012

Corbie Clark is playing hockey this year in the Mini Mites league.  Tonight, he got to play hockey between the first and second period.  I snapped this picture just before he got to skate on the big ice!  Last year, he got to deliver the game puck to the hockey referee before the start of the game.  He loves his hockey and the Rivermen!

Day 12, Thursday, January 12, 2012

This was the view out of my window at work today.  It snowed all day long.

Day 11, Wednesday, January 11, 2012

Another one of my Tim Holtz tags from the 12 Tags of Christmas.  I think this is my favorite so far.

Day 10, Tuesday, January 10, 2012

This morning as I was driving to work, the sun was shining on my back and right in the middle of that line of trees behind the tombstones, was the biggest brightest white moon.  It looked so much bigger in real life and I am not sure you can tell from this photo...but the sun was shining on the ground right under it!

Day 9, Tuesday, January 9, 2012

I started a Smash Book from K&Co on January 1.  It is my "junk journal" so to speak.  Just those little bits of paper and info that would otherwise be tossed in the trash.  It reminds me of the way I scrapped in my teen years...no photos, just "stuff"!  I am not putting something in here everyday...like project 365.  Just bits of info here and there!

Day 8, Sunday, January 8, 2012

This is another Tim Holtz tag from the 12 days of Christmas tags.  I hope to get them all done really soon.  I liked the glitter numbers on this tag and the silver tinsel trim.

Day 7, Saturday, January 7, 2012

Here is Winston...laying on his rug and blankie.  He was snoring just before I got the camera.  He puts his nose against the floor when he is really sound asleep.

Day 6, Friday, January 6, 2012

We went to the hockey game tonight.  On the concourse, there is a sign with all the different logos.  We started attending the hockey games in Peoria when the team was called the Peoria Prancers.  The team was formed in 1982 and is now an AHL farm team for the St. Louis Blues.  Our players are called up to play when the Blues have an injured player (or suspended!).

Day 5, Thursday, January 5, 2012

I have had pain in my wrist since June.  I went to the doctor in August and he prescribed some pills to help with the pain.  It still is hurting, so I went back to see the doctor and he sent me to physical therapy.  I have been having ultra-sound treatments, exercises, a thumb brace and ice & heat to help strengthen my wrist.  I am still having pain, but not as bad.

Day 4, Wednesday, January 4, 2012

I had a dentist appointment this afternoon.  As I was driving home, I couldn't help but watch the sunset.  I took several shots with my point and shoot...this was my favorite.

Day 3, Tuesday, January 3, 2012

I use the Weight Watcher app on my iphone to track my daily points plus.  I didn't really think I needed a "smart" phone, but as Johnny Mac says, "It's the top of the mountain!" and I agree with him!

Day 2, Monday, January 2, 2012

I bought cubes today with my Christmas money and gift cards.  I have been thinking about re-arranging my scrap cave.  I can't wait to get started!

Day 1, Sunday, January 1, 2012

Today is the beginning of my fourth year of taking a picture every day and journaling about it.  This is my new calendar for 2012.  I keep all of my "picture of the day" photos listed in this calendar, along with the day of the year it currently is.  I have always loved the Peanuts characters, Snoopy the most, but Charlie Brown was my favorite "human" character.  So, here is to the year 2012!  I hope I can take another 366 pictures to document our daily life!

Day 365, Saturday, December 31

Happy New Year's Eve!  Today is the last day of 2011.  We went to the hockey game (and it was great!  There was one time where 8 players were in the penalty box...4 of our players and 4 of the other team!  And then, the coach was mad...he broke a hockey stick on the boards and the ref threw him out of the game!).  We ended the year, playing marbles at Cindy and Eric's.  It was a great way to spend time with our friends and to ring in the new year!  I have completed 3 years of project life...a picture a day...everyday!

Day 364, Friday, December 30

I put away all the Christmas decorations today.  This is a mini album I made several years ago.  I have many pictures of Jim and me when we were growing up at Christmas time in this album.  I sat and looked at this album today for just a few minutes.  It made me happy to see pictures of Grandpa Smith in this album.

Day 363, Thursday, December 29

Yes, I made another trip to Menard's today, to purchase the extra trim we will need to install the bedroom doors.  We have a new door on the bathroom and because our walls are not the standard size, we had to get extra 1 x 2's to finish the trim.  It was really nice today, so I stained all the trim we already had, too!

Day 362, Wednesday, December 28

I made another trip to Menard's this afternoon and bought this cabinet to put in the corner of the bathroom.  Jim is putting it together...took most of the evening after dinner.  It has three shelves and glass doors.  It is taller and deeper than the one we had before.  It will be great to have the extra storage space!

Day 361, Tuesday, December 27

The contractor finished our bathroom at 3 p.m., last friday.  I had to finish the painting and remove some wallpaper.  Yesterday, I painted this wall...up to the wallpaper border.  Today, I finished removing the border and painted the area that was left.

Day 360, Monday, December 26

I have been listening to my ipod lately.  I like using the speakers instead of using the earphones.

Day 359, Sunday, December 25

Merry Christmas!  We ate dinner tonight at Grandma Smith's with Elaine, Luke, Austin and Trisha.

Day 358, Saturday, December 24

Grandma Smith gave each of the children and grandchildren a special Christmas present this year.  Since Grandpa passed away, she looked through his things and found a special gift for everyone.  Stacie got an alarm clock that she played with when she was a child.  It is very loud and makes really strange noises...like crowing!  Nate got one of Grandpa's pocket knifes...he had many.  He also got the magnifying glass that is on a wire (it is over his left eye right now).  I remember him using this with Grandpa.  Jim got the cuff links that Grandpa wore when they got married.  Grandma worked hard to find something special for everyone!

Day 357, Friday, December 23

Happy Birthday, Luke!  Today he is 32 years old.  He is the oldest grandchild.  I hope you have a great birthday!

Day 356, Thursday, December 22

We got our new phones yesterday!  Mine is white and Jim's is black.  I got a purple case for mine, too!  I barely know how to answer this phone.  I hope Stacie can teach me a few tricks when I see her!

Day 355, Wednesday, December 21

Cindy and I exchanged our Christmas gifts today.  School dismissed at 11:30 a.m. for Christmas break.  Of course, we bought each other scrapbook and stamping supplies!  LOL  It will be fun to use some of the new supplies we got...of course we share with each other.  What she has...I want and what I have....she wants!

Day 354, Tuesday, December 20

This made me very happy to see the tile on the back wall of the shower and tub when I got home from work today.  It has been almost a week since the contractor started ripping our bathroom apart.  The goal is to be done by friday....I hope!

Day 353, Monday, December 19

I am not sure you can really see what I was taking a picture of here.  When we went to get in the car, there was a shadow in the grass.  The grass in the shadow was still covered in frost in the outline of my car.  That is how much the sun warms up the grass!

Day 352, Sunday, December 18

We ordered our new phones today!  We got the iphone 4S.  This is our Christmas present to each other.  We had to switch from U.S. Cellular to Verizon to get this phone.  We can't wait!

Wednesday, January 4, 2012

Day 351, Saturday, December 17

Nate and I took Winston to the vet to get his nails trimmed.  He doesn't like to get them done, but they were really long and needed to be cut.  He doesn't like other dogs, so we were on the other side of the office.  Winston barked the entire time we were in the waiting room.  There was a great dane who came in the office and Winston went crazy, trying to get to this big dog.  Nate picked him up (42 pounds of bulldog) and started to go outside and there was a german sheppard in the foyer! Ugh!  They finally got into a room and he got his nails trimmed.  I was glad that Nate was with me...I wouldn't have been able to control that wild dog!

Day 350, Friday, December 16

This Norfolk Pine Tree arrived at school today.  It was sent by the District Office in sympathy of losing my father-in-law this week.  It is a beautiful little tree and I appreciate the thoughts and prayers and mostly the understanding that I have received from my co-workers the past few months.

Day 349, Thursday, December 15

The memorial service for Dad was held at St Joseph Catholic Church this morning.  His ashes were laid to rest at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.  Father Tim did an excellant job during the memorial service.  He captured his personality and how much he loved his family.  It is hard to let go of someone who means so much to all of us, but at the same time, Dad was tired at 90.  We love you and will miss you.

Day 348, Wednesday, December 14

This was my tub.  Ryan Bill started my bathroom remodel today.  I am so excited to finally get my bathroom done.  Not looking forward to the mess...or having to take a shower at Parkside for the next few days, but I can't wait to see how everything looks all put together!  I told him I wanted my bathroom to look like a "spa"!

Day 347, Tuesday, December 13

The students in the morning Pre-Kindergarten class got to make gingerbread houses today.  Well, really they were graham crackers glued to milk cartons, but the kids enjoyed creating their own little house with candy canes, froot loops and frosting.  I snapped the picture and got out of there quickly before I got iced, too!

Day 346, Monday, December 12

There seems to always be a Starbucks cup sitting on my kitchen counter.  Not from me...Jim is sooooo addicted! lol

Day 345, Sunday, December 11

Today was one of the hardest days of my life.  Early this morning, my father-in-law, James F. Smith, passed away at the age of 90.  He has been in and out of the hospital since the 14th of October.  We have spent many hours this past few days, by his side trying to let go of a man who was a great husband, father and grandfather.  He will be greatly missed by all of us who loved him.  Rest in Peace until we meet again!

Day 344, Saturday, December 10

This is a close up of our tree this year.  I put the Rolan Johnson ornaments that are dated and the wooden ornaments that Cindy and I have painted on the tree this year.  I have lots of ornaments but my theme was "less is more" this season.  I did put up the little tree upstairs.  It has all the Santa ornaments displayed on it.
