Day 191, Sunday, July 10
Today we left at 8 a.m., for vacation. Our first stop was in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Jim's Aunt Margie lived in this house on the corner of Pitt and Cresent. His Grandpa Gardner lived in a house on Pitt St. We also stopped across the bridge where he fished on the banks of the Chippewa River when he was in junior high. He remembers catching sturgeon from this river bed. It was fun to see where his relatives lived. Tomorrow, we are planning to go to Elmwood, where his Grandma Smith lived.

How fun to go and see where Jim's family lived. Enjoy your vacation!
ReplyDeleteHi Aprile, I wish that you would have stopped at our house. We live between Eau Claire and Elmwood. I remember staying over night with Jill at Aunt Marge's house! We always had fun when Uncle Jim and Aunt Ruth came to Elmwood to visit Grandma. Ask Jim if he remembers camping at Aunt Marys. I hope you went to see Aunt Mary. She would love to see you. ReplyDeleteJackie: We took pics of Elmwood. So much has changed. We did stop & visited for a little with Uncle Dale. Had a nice visit. Had to show Aprile where we shot down the transformers! Lol. Your mom is visiting Susan :( So, didn't get to visit with her. Our trip was rather spontaneous, so didn't get to call ahead. Only chatted about 20 minutes or so. Had to get to Mall of America.....it is on Aprile's Bucket List, you know !?! Sorry we missed you. Jim
