This is a Pinterest project. I have been wanting to do this for a while. This weekend, I worked on several artist canvas projects. I can't wait to finish this one!

I have been getting up earlier in the morning so I can spend some time playing with Coco before I leave for work. I feel bad leaving him everyday. I go home at lunch and play for a little while, too. He is always happy to see me!
This is the Illinois River. The bike trail goes all the way down to the river front. And when I say DOWN, I mean it is downhill all the way. But it is a gradual elevation drop, so it isn't really bad going back home. We sure see a lot of "characters" on our bike rides!
There was a really big storm and lightening hit this tree at Rogers School. We think it the other tree and either crossed through the roots or the limbs that were touching. It knocked the bark off the tree. Some it was stuck in the ground about 30 feet away from the tree.
We rode our bikes tonight to see Scott, Elaine and Austin. It was 4.1 miles to their house and back to ours. We didn't take the same route both ways. I have been using the Strava Cycling app on my iphone since we bought our bikes. It tracks our route, time, elevation and calories burned among other things.

Jim and I went to the Pekin Daily Times open house. He worked as the proof reader around 1974 or 1975. He is standing where his desk was. It was interesting to see how the paper had changed. The offices are moving to another building and this one is going to become a parking lot!
Today was my first day back to work after having 7 weeks off. This is the longest summer vacation I have ever had in the 24 years that I have worked at school. We added on to our playground equipment before we left for summer, but the company had to come back to install the roof, so I wanted to wait until it was complete to photo it.
We bought bicyles! After our vacation to Mackinac Island, we wanted to try riding bikes at home. We got mine at Wal-Mart in Peoria and Jim's at Wal-Mart in East Peoria. I was trying to get a picture of my list of "Bike Wants". Wide tires, cruiser handle bars, 7 speeds, big seat, fenders, basket, package rack and purple. Well, I got everything, except it is blue and not purple!
I am amazed that this plant is still alive! I take all of my house plants outside as soon as I can every spring. This one dropped every leaf and was completely bear one week in April! I thought it was a total loss, but put it outside anyway. I kept watering it and within a few days, I could see little sprouts on the limbs. I am so happy it made it!
All summer long, Peyton and I have been going to Chuck E. Cheese once a week. We have been collecting the tickets to use on one big prize. Today, was our final visit for summer 2012! He had a great time feeding the tickets into the ticket machine and ended up getting a 2000 ticket prize. (with a $5.00 donatation from Aunt Aprile, of course!)

While we were on vacation, my 2011 Project 365 yearbook came. One of my goals for summer was to get this book finished. I won a free book from Becky Higgins, so this one only cost me shipping. I am very happy with the quality of the book and pictures. The only thing I was disappointed with is on the front cover. You can see the white circle on the right side has "2011" and it is hanging off the side of the book. Guess I have to live with that!
