Day 149, Saturday, May 29

We went to do some shopping in Bloomington today, so Jim just had to go to Krispy Kreme. So you're thinking what does doughnuts have to do with Peyton having stitches??? Well, we bought some "kremie" doughnuts for him and took them by their house. He started his summer vacation with an accident and his first 3 stitches. The dog knocked him down and he hit his head on the coffee table. He not only got the stitches...but ice cream, too for holding still while the doc put the stitches in!

Day 148, Friday, May 28

This sun dial is just a few steps away from the fountain in the previous picture. (yep, I cheated by taking two pics in one day...but I could have gone back and taken it today!) Anyway, this is a very complicated device and is pretty accurate as far as sun dials go!

Day 147, Thursday, May 27

Today I went to the park to take my picture of the day. This fountain is across the street from the Lagoon. At night it is lit with bright colored light bulbs. I was surprised that my point and shoot camera stopped the water droplets as well as it did! There are weddings held at this fountain in the summer time.

Day 146, Wednesday, May 26

Me and my son!

St Pete Beach Album, Bucket Full of Memories

More of that BoBunny paper!

I used George to cut the circle at the top of the page. I punched the tags that I used for "St Pete Beach" with the Jewelry tag punch. The sand pail is one of the cardstock journaling blocks. I cuttlebugged the right strip of cardstock with the swirls folder. This layout began with a sketch from Page Maps by Becky Fleck.

St Pete Beach Album, Don't Feed the Birds

Simple again...loved the bird paper, it is BoBunny (I mentioned that before!) I cut the title from Printing 101.

I used the cardstock journaling blocks and one of the stickers on this page.

St Pete Beach Album, Adventure On the Beach

Not much Cricut here...just the waves cut from Everyday Paper Dolls. The tags are some old ones that I got a long time ago from Deluxe Cuts. A few rub-on letters on vellum and some brads.

The parasail, boat and life jacket are from a Jolee's 3D sticker.

St Pete Beach Album, Just Married on the Beach

I used Wild Card to cut the title for this layout. I used the fit to page to make it as large as I could. I cut it twice, using the second cut to pop dot the letters. The "On The Beach" is using the font from Wild Card, too. I cut the hearts from the Wedding Solutions cartridge and inked, layered and pop dotted them. I inked around all the edges and added some bling and flowers. The centers of the Prima flowers are from the Boho Blossoms Stampin Up punch with a brad in the center.

The background paper is just sand and the shells are along the bottom and under the title.

St Pete Beach Album, John's Pass

This paper is BoBunny...I just love it. I have used several of the papers in this line. And I bought the stickers and cardstock journaling blocks to match (you will see!) I cut the letters from Plantin SchoolBook (trying to use all my cartridges again!)

St Pete Beach Album, Up, Up & Over the Bridge

This one is very simple. I used Opposites Attract for the title. I didn't want to spend too much time on these pictures. I don't like bridges and this one was especially awful! Don't really want to re-live this event over and over and over!

St Pete Beach Album, Surf's Up

I used my Life Is A Beach cart again! I cut the surf board at fit to page. The title was cut once in blue and again in yellow so I could layer the "Up". I inked the sand paper and used the Martha Stewart punch along the edge. The 'Bake your buns" was a rub on. I added some bling to the title.

On page two I cut the "hang ten" and layered and inked it, too. The paper is a double sided called Island Mango, I think. I bought some of the paper at the scrapbook store that I visited when we were in Florida on vacation and some of the same from scrapyourtrip.com. The shells are rub ons.

Day 145, Tuesday, May 25

Happy 31st Anniversary to Cindy and Eric! Eric brought this beautiful basket of flowers to school today for Cindy. It really smelled wonderful and the colors were so bright and cheerful! Congratulations on reaching 31 years of marriage!

Day 144, Monday, May 24

Mrs. Clark has a "mystery" reader every week. The children are given hints and they are to guess who the mystery reader is. Usually, the reader is related to one of the students. Today was the last reader of the year. The mystery reader was Mrs. Clark's son, Corbie! She said he doesn't really read it, he has it memorized. We enjoyed seeing Corbie and his brother Zane!

Day 143, Sunday, May 23

Jim and Rob went fishing today at Oak Run. They kept 54 bluegills...or gillies as the boys call them! Rob just bought this new truck. It is a 2009 and it had only 6000 miles on it. He got a pretty sweet deal as he would say! Congrats to the catching of the fish (for a fish fry later in the summer) and on the purchase of a new truck!

Day 142, Saturday, May 22

I think this guy is pretty funny! He greets me every time I go to the tanning salon. I started tanning because we are hoping to go to the beach again this year. We shall see what happens in the Gulf. All reports so far say the BP oil spill is not in the Loop Current yet and shouldn't impact the east Florida coast. I'm tanning anyway for summer. I get a rash if I stay out in the sun too long and don't have some color to my skin.

Day 141, Friday, May 21

Our kindergarten classes study the butterfly and watch them grow from a caterpillar to a cocoon to a butterfly. Today, I heard a bunch of noise in the hallway...there were several students coming to tell us that the cocoon had opened and the butterfly was moving it's wings! Very exciting news! This butterfly is called a painted lady. When the others develop into butterflies, they will release them out on the playground.

Day 140, Thursday, May 20

Today was Play Day at school. Our company that does our fundraiser brings these bouncy things for the kids to play in and on. The kids have a great time jumping and bouncing . I had to give it a try, too. But I have to say, someone with a bad knee should NOT be bouncing on anything. It was a busy crazy fun kind of day!

Day 139, Wednesday, May 19

Here are the two people in my life that I couldn't live without! Stacie and Nathan! Love you to pieces my daughter and son! I didn't take this picture of them...it was taken last fall, but just look at the smiles...(lots of my $$$'s in those teeth! lol) I guess they were a little "happy". This was at the 3rd Annual McCormack Invitational. I don't know all the games they play, bags I think...they have a really great time!

Tuesday, May 18, 2010

Day 138, Tuesday, May 18

This is the list we made today. Every year, when the carnival comes to town, we make a list. Our selection is for our favorite ride/booth that year. The rides are set up across the street from school and the students are soooo distracted by the whole production.

Day 137, Monday, May 17

Living Salad Bowl...this is the closest I think I have every come to raising my own food! Stacie and John gave me this hanging basket for Mother's Day. We had our first salad on Sunday evening...it was just yummy!

Sunday, May 16, 2010

Day 136, Sunday, May 16

I planted these gerber daisys today. They are so pretty...I hope I don't kill them!

Day 135. Saturday, May 15

Our passports came today! We can officially leave the country and come back in! It took about a month to get them back in the mail. We thought it would take alot longer. Also, this picture covers the challenge at gotpixal...take a picture with 3 of the primary colors in it. I have red, blue and yellow.

Friday, May 14, 2010

St Pete Beach Album, Grand Canyon

Much to Jim's dismay....I took this photo of him with the plan to do this layout! As the story goes...he wanted to go to the Grand Canyon in 1995, when the kids and I wanted to go to the Bahamas. We went to the Bahamas...and he still wants to go to the Grand Canyon. (Well, we have flown over it 4 times already!) I used Wild Card to cut the vellum "thinking" bubbles. The Grand Canyon stickers and the sunglasses and starfish are Jolee's. The chipboard embellies are from K&Co...as is the paper. The sand paper is punched with a Martha Stewart shell border punch. I inked all the edges (ala Tim Holtz!) The title is made with rub on letters.

We enjoyed having the cabana for shade...definately worth the $20!

St Pete Beach Album, Bubba Gump

We ate at the Bubba Gump Resturant in Madeira Beach! It was really fun and I can't wait to go there again! I used quotes from the movie for the title and some journaling. This paper (Spring Break paper pad from Michael's) had the filmstrip running through it and I used Tim Holtz's new filmstrip die as a border down the side. The yellow letters are acrylic...don't know where I got them...I had bought the "stupid is" bumper sticker when we were at the gift shop and it was bright yellow, so I needed to use the yellow in other areas.

Page 2!

St Pete Beach Album, Ahoy Matey!

Ahoy Matey! This pirate ship was docked at Madeira Beach at St. John's Pass when we ate dinner at the Friendly Fisherman. I used Life's A Beach and Paper Doll Dress Up for the ship's wheel, treasure chest and pirate ship. I cut multiple layers in brown and white to be able to layer and pop dot the cuts. The letters in the title are from Cuttin' Up. The parrots are Jolee's dimensional stickers. I inked and doodled where I could. The patterned paper is from Hobby Lobby and I inked it too.

Page 2

Since I was cutting pirate "stuff" and I wasn't sure what sizes I needed...I used my extra cuts for a layout of our Pre-K class at school. The class always does a Pirate Unit and dress up like pirates for the day. They have sooooo much fun in Pre-K!

I covered up their faces! The paper had the pirate ship printed on it. I just covered up the one on the first page by turning the paper and placing the "treasure map" paper over the ship image. I inked the edges of the blue paper to give it some dimension. It's a pirate's life for me!

Day 134, Friday, May 14

Friday is my favorite day of the week! I know when I wake up on friday morning, that the next two days I don't have to go to work...I can wake up when I want to and don't have to wake up to an alarm! TGIF...That's what I say!!

Day 133, Thursday, May 13

Some of the students like to draw or color pictures for me! I like to post them on the side of my desk where everyone can see. I change them out as I get new pictures.

Day 132, Wednesday, May 12

This is our "Caught You Being Good" bulletin board at school. The students are eligible to receive an orange paw print if they are "Caught Being Good". We write their name on the paw print, fill out a certificate to take home to mom or dad and they get to pick a pencil, too. I cut the letters on my cricut out of black chipboard and orange cardstock using the Cuttin' Up cartridge. (love that cartridge!)

Day 131, Tuesday, May 11

ROAR!!!!! Tonight was "Walking With Dinosaurs!". OMG! It was truly amazing. We had front row seats and loved every minute of the show! It gave me goose bumps when the TRex mama came out really mad because the other dinos had cornered her baby! She made quick work of running them off! Peyton, Cyndi and I enjoyed the entire show and didn't want to leave when it was over!

Day 130, Monday, May 10

They're Coming! Walking With Dinosaurs is tomorrow night. I made this card for my nephew. I sent it to him over the weekend. He should have gotten it today! I used the Dinosaur cartridge to make the circle and dino. I cuttlebugged the layer with the mosiac texture folder and inked it, too. The frame is from Fabulous Finds. This is an easel card...got the directions from splitcoaststampers.com. Tomorrow, I hope I have an awesome picture of the dinosaurs for my potd.

Day 129, Sunday, May 9

Happy Mother's Day! We both got to see our Mom's on Mother's Day. My children both had to work all day, but I did get to talk to them both. I didn't have to cook all day...and Jim gave me a Michael's and Hobby Lobby gift card! Thanks, Jim.

Day 128, Saturday, May 8

The cards for the month of May were made using a sketch. We had 4 different sketches to pick from. The cards could be for any occasion and any color combination. My Chirpin' Chicks friends out did themselves once again! I have the best creative group of card makers!
