We enjoyed our staff lunch at noon, today. I got my 25 year pin! My hire date is 8/8/88, so I am just completing my 25th school year.

Coco loves to chew on these strings. They are from the chewy bones he likes. Cindy bought him the first one when he came to live with us last May. I have bought about 6 new ones and he chews the bones up and keeps the strings. I tie them together and he unties them!

Jim and I went to the NCAA Tennis Championship tournament today, in Champaign. There have been matches for the past two weeks. We didn't get to see much U of I tennis, but we did get to see some awesome tennis. It rained just as we were getting to the courts, so all of the matches were moved indoor.
No, I didn't go to the farm today, the farm animals came to us! We had a petting zoo for the last positive behavior celebration. Sheep, pot belly pigs, goats, chickens, ducks, bunnies, geese and a donkey. The students loved petting all the different animals.
I finished this Zentangle in my sketchbook tonight. I used a circle template to start the center and outer most rings because I wanted them to stay round. The rest is free hand. I love how the shading always makes the tangles look 3 dimensional.
We read the newspaper and were in the yard working by 8 a.m., this morning. I completed this "tower of pots" that I saw on Pinterest. I worked in the flower beds and Jim worked in the garage. I stepped on a mound of dirt and jammed my bad knee!
I subbed at Rogers school today. Dara asked me to water her orchid. On Friday's, she puts 3 ice cubes on the soil. It was a really important job, as she emailed, phoned and left me a note about this. (She must know I don't really have a green thumb!)
This is my latest Zentangle tile. I try to work on one everyday after I finish my sandwich at Subway. The one on the left is my sample I printed from Pinterest and the right side is my tile. They always look just a little different because I am not a very good copier or I try something not in the sample. Anyway, it relaxes me for just a few minutes at lunch time.
I got a lot of Skinny Cow candy bars from students at school this week. It is Staff Appreciation Week and the students have been bringing us thank you's every day. Parents Club asked us what our favorite candy, flower and fruit was. They sent a note home with the students and we got lots of gifts.
Nikki, Linda and I had a great time during National Scrapbook Day. We spent the day at the Knights of Columbus hall with about 20 girls. I got about 8 layouts done from kits. They sure are easier to work on at a crop. There was food, fun and lots of prizes. Kellee Mumm hosted a great event and we all want to get together again to crop!
For our 37th Wedding Anniversary we went to eat at the Fish House. Jim had steak & lobster and I had steak & shrimp. It was probably the best anniversary meal we have ever had. We even had dessert! (thank goodness for those extra WW points!) Thanks for sharing the past 37 years with me, Jim!
I have been making some goody bags to give out during our National Scrapbook Day crop. Kellee is hosting the event and I have been helping by making some tickets, too. I can't wait to spend the day with my scrappy friends on May 4th.
