Day 234, Monday, August 22

Today was the first day of attendance for our students.  All the desks are clean and lined up in neat rows.  See how shiny the new tile is?  It makes the rooms seem so much brighter and cleaner.  Next year, the other hallway and entrance will be completed, too!

Day 233, Sunday, August 21

We are starting a new behavior program this year.  This board will be used for paw prints.  I cut all the letters with my Cricut and glued them to foam core board (love that stuff!).  I also painted the tiger on a 20 x 30 inch piece of foam core board.  This is the same tiger we painted on wood for the sign at the entrance to Rogers School.

Day 232, Saturday, August 20

We had a bunch of errands to run today in Peoria.  We drove by this wooden carved statue and I had Jim stop to let me take a picture.  We have driven by this corner many times and I had never seen it before.  It is carved into the "stump" of a tree.  It is probably 10 or 12 feet tall.

Day 231, Friday, August 19

Jim left this morning to go to Chicago to watch a ballgame.  The Cardinals were playing the Cubs at Wrigley Field.  He didn't get home until 9:30 tonight.  The Cubs won, but he still had a great time...in the PNC Bank Suite!

Day 230, Thursday, August 18

I love to watch the commericals that Sherwin Williams has been using.  I think it is awesome the way they mold those paint chips into various shapes...Hot Air Balloons in this one!

Day 229, Wednesday, August 17

We went to eat dinner at Logan's tonight.  Logan's is one of our favorite places to go.  We used this coupon for Buy 1, Get 1 FREE!

Day 228, Tuesday, August 16

I have been eating a lot of fruit lately.  I love eating fresh strawberries and rainer cherries.  The cherries are just about to the end of the season.

Day 227, Monday, August 15

I bought this calculator to figure the PointsPlus for Weight Watchers.  I can compute the points for any food that I can get the protein, carbs, fat and fiber from the label.  I hope this will help me keep track of my food intake.  It will "countdown" the number of points that I enter each day.

Day 226, Sunday, August 14

I bought 3 Cricut cartridges at Menard's today.  Thery were on sale for $24.99 each, with a $20 rebate.  I probably wouldn't have bought them if they were more than $4.99!

Day 225, Saturday, August 13

We ate at El Sombrerito today...for the last time.  Jade is closing the restrauant and moving to Arizona.  I will miss the taco salad and of course, Jade's friendly voice and laughter.  She is the granddaughter of the orginal owners and cooked the same recipes!

Day 224, Friday, August 12

I have been making dishcloths again.  I bought some Sugar N Cream yarn to take on vacation.  Once I get started on these...I just can't stop!

Day 223, Thursday, August 11

We got our water bill today.  The bill shows our water comparison for the past 12 months.  The past month was hotter this year than last.  I know it shows AUG use...but it really is the bill that is due in August.  Jim has been watering the lawn everyday.

Day 222, Wednesday, August 10

I got new Ear Buds, today.  I like this brand.  They are have really small covers and they don't hurt my ears.  There are several different colors...of course, I chose the green ones, only because they didn't have purple.  They were on sale at Staples for $7.99!

Day 221, Tuesday, August 9

While I was at work today, our new playground equipment was installed.  It took the company (3 guys) about 5 hours to complete this set up from start to finish!  The kids are going to be so excited when they see it when school starts on August 22!

Day 220, Monday, August 8

I joined Weight Watchers.  I am a Lifetime Member...and it was a lifetime ago, that I was following the program.  I know it works, it did before.  So I will beging this journey again!

Day 219, Sunday, August 7

I have been working on this album.  I started it while we were on vacation...inking the edges of the paper and glueing it to the chipboard.  I finished it tonight...I don't know which trip I am going to put in this "suitcase"!

Day 218, Saturday, August 6

We bought the tile for the bathroom the other day.  I have to pick out the grout.  These are my choices.  I don't know which one!

Day 217, Friday, August 5

Our second day of registration went well.  I can't believe how fast the summer has passed.  Before you know it ... it will be Christmas!

Day 216, Thursday, August 4

Went to the doctor today about my wrist.  I have been wrapping it for about a month and it still hurts...well, worse than before.  It is just tendonitis and will take a while to heal.  I have to put heat on it and take iburophen for "a while".  Glad it isn't broken, but I sure hate getting old!

Day 215, Wednesday, August 3

I finally finished my 4th week of Summer Card Camp!  I have really enjoyed doing the cards and have learned a bunch of new techniques.  I would love to go back through the class and make the cards using different color combos from each week.  Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire are still offering this class, at a discount now if you would like to participate.  There are tons of cards in the student weekly gallery and the instructions are awesome!

Day 214, Tuesday, August 2

According to Hungry Girl....today is National Ice Cream Sandwich Day.  Lucky for me, I have a box of Skinny Cow vanilla ice cream sandwiches!  I love them!

Day 213, Monday, August 1

Happy Birthday, Jordan!  Today, Jordan is 6!  This is a picture of him when they were in Myrtle Beach!  Hope you have a great day!  Love you!

Day 212, Sunday, July 31

I bought a chipboard book from Archivers.  I started assembling the pages, adding the paper and cutting out the letter openings.  When I got to the "t" in vacation...it was missing.  I sent an email to 7 gypsies and they sent me a whole new book!

Day 211, Saturday, July 30

Well, I made a new rack for my Tim Holtz ink pads.  The other one that I made out of foam board wasn't "working" for me.  Since the pads are supposed to be stored up side down...I needed to add some dividers so the pads would slide out.  I also made it big enough to store the re-inkers, too.  I can store the paint dabbers and stains on the top.

Day 210, Friday, July 29

Hello, my darling great niece, Saige!  I got a bunch of pics of her the other day.  She was in a great mood, as she always is....but she was running a slight fever.  Maybe she is getting some new teeth.  Anyway, she is standing so steady....if she would just pick up her foot...she would be walking!  Where have the last 10 months gone?
