Day 274, Sunday, September 30, 2012

Today is the last day of September.  Where has this month gone?  We rode our bikes this morning for 45 minutes...about 4 1/2 miles.  Ate lunch at Culver's and went to the Art Fair on the river front in Peoria.  I also did the Clickin' Walk 2012, downtown Peoria.  This is my favorite shot from the walk.  It is the windows at the Civic Center, showing the reflections of the buildings across the street.  This is one very tired girl tonight!

Day 273, Saturday, September 29, 2012

I had a very busy day!  I went to body pump, ran some errands, ate lunch at Avanti's, bought potting soil and a whole bunch of fall bulbs.  When we got home, Jim took a nap and I worked outside in the flower beds, planting bulbs, trimming hostas and cleaning up my house plants, so I could bring them in for the winter.  We went to eat at Panera and on the way home the moon was so bright and it wasn't really dark yet.  I grabbed my camera and tried to capture the moon.  This is the best photo!

Day 272, Friday, September 28, 2012

I have been watching this tree change colors all week long.  I finally stopped today and took a picture.  It is a sure sign that fall is here in Central Illinois.

Day, 271, Thursday, September 27, 2012

Coco and I have been walking after school everyday.    He just sniffs everything and runs along on the street.  We don't have any sidewalks, so we have to walk in the road.  Today, he got two sand stickers in both of his front paws.  I will have to watch him closer, so he doesn't walk in those weeds!

Day 270, Wednesday, September 26, 2012

We had a special visitor at school today.  Blake Crebo came to say "Hi", with his mom.  He is Mr. Stan's grandson.  He is just 3 months old.  It was so awesome to finally meet this little guy!

Day 269, Tuesday, September 25, 2012

I have been using my cricut at school.  These are the footballs, hockey pucks and soccer balls for accelerated reader.  As the students reach their goal, they get to write their name on one of the balls, football for lst quarter, hockey pucks for 2nd quarter and soccer balls for 3rd quarter.  There is a bulletin board near the library for them to add the balls.  One student from each classroom is selected to eat lunch with the principal.

Day 268, Monday, September 24, 2012

Happy Birthday to Clifford the big red dog.  He is 50 years old today.  The children at school, had an assembly to celebrate his big day.

Day 267, Sunday, September 23, 2012

We went on a bike ride today.  It is starting to get dark by 6 p.m. and we can't get a bike ride in before it is too dark, during the week.  We loaded our bikes on the back of the car and rode the bike trail from the river front all the way to the end and back.  It is about 6 1/2 miles.  It was a little cold, but we enjoyed it just the same!

Day 266, Saturday, September 22, 2012

The annual fish fry at the Bundy's was this afternoon.  Rob spends most of the summer catching blue gill and crappies for the fish fry.  We also have a hillbilly golf and bag tournament.  It was a great day to be outside playing games, eating food and visiting with family and friends!

Day 265, Friday, Septembedr 21, 2012

Early this week, Mr. Goss asked me to make some signs for school using my cricut.  We had early dismissal today at 11:30, so Cindy and I worked all afternoon cutting the letters out of vinyl.  We applied vinyl to old street signs.  We still have several others to do, but we got this many done today!

Day 264, Thursday, September 20, 2012

It was 4 months ago today, that I met the breeder in the parking lot at Cracker Barrel in Lincoln and brought Coco home to live with us.  He is a ball of energy, he still has potty accidents and yes, those are chew marks on the chair legs, but he makes my heart happy!

Day 263, Wednesday, September 19, 2012

I have been buying watermelons from a local farm stand.  I love watermelon and this year they have been really sweet.  This one was seedless, however a couple of weeks ago, they only had the seeded melons and it was the sweetest one ever!

Day 262, Tuesday, September 18, 2012

I picked up my Sudoku book and started working a few puzzles this week.  I really like to complete these number challenges.

Tuesday, September 18, 2012

Day 261, Monday, September 17, 2012

I went to Nikki's to create some cards and a scrapbook page.  Nikki has great ideas for pretty cards and I always love her scrapbook style.  Tonight we made 4 Christmas cards.  I hope to make more of these to send out this year.  Thanks again, Nikki for being a great friend.

Day 260, Sunday, September 16, 2012

My car hit the 70,000 mile mark.

Day 259, Saturday, September 15, 2012

My friend, Tiffany has two boys who love to be outside with their Dad and Papa doing farm chores.  Today, I went to the field and took some pictures of Zane in the combine with Papa.  If you look really close you can see his little red head in the cab of the combine.  This machine is amazing to me, it cuts the stalks, shucks the ears of corn, strips the corn off the cob to a holding bin and shoots the remaining parts out the back!

Day 258, Friday, September 14, 2012

This is one of the signs on the bike trail.  I like the sun with the birds.  We have been enjoying riding on the trail as there is no motor traffic.  It is a safe place to ride our bikes!

Day 257, Thursday, September 13, 2012

Cindy and I are very tired of the color yellow.  This is a stack of student folders at school.  It seems like the first month of school, all we see is yellow!

Day 256, Wednesday, September 12, 2012

Stacie met me at Parkside tonight for the Body Pump class.  I started taking the weight lifting class in June to tone my muscles.  Yes, I was very sore (and so was Stacie) at first, but I am so happy I have stuck with the weights.  I still don't lift a lot, but it is making a difference in how I feel!

Day 255, Tuesday, September 11, 2012

I make "kits" every week with fruit and veggies.  I vary the contents as the fresh fruit changes with the season.  Right now the strawberries are very sweet.  This week, I had red grapes, strawberries, carrots, cucumbers and mushrooms.  I make at least 5 or 6 containers as that seems to be the magic number for freshness!

Day 254, Monday, September 10, 2012

I have been doing some scrapbooking.  This picture is from 2002.  It is 10 years old and is on 8 1/2 x 11 paper.  I switched to 12 x 12 in 2003.  I still have a few layouts to do from 2002!  It sure is hard to complete a page when there is so little "real estate"!

Day 253, Sunday, September 9, 2012

This weekend is the Marigold Festival.  Many of the businesses and community groups plant flower beds with marigolds and other flowers.  This one has really taken off since we have gotten some rain.  It is on the corner by the fire station and is sponsered by the Hoe and Hope Club

Day, 252, Saturday, September 8, 2012

We rode our bikes on the bike trail tonight, all the way down to the river front.  I liked this picture of the fountain.  You can see our shadows with our bikes!

Day 251, Friday, September 7, 2012

I didn't take this picture, my friend Paige did.  It is a "shelf cloud" that formed and dropped a heavy storm on our area.  This was around 7 this morning.

Day 250, Thursday, September 6, 2012

I had to put gas in my car at lunch today.  This is the most it has ever cost me to fill up my tank.

Day 249, Wednesday, September 5, 2012

Coco went to the puppy spa this morning.  He got a bath, nails trimmed and a haircut.  They always put a little kerchief on him and he can't wait to get it off!  He is so cute!

Day 248, Tuesday, September 4, 2012

These little mushrooms keep popping up in our yard.  This is where the tree was and we filled it in with some dirt.  Every time it rains, mushrooms grow!

Day, 247, Monday, September 3, 2012

We went to Springfield this morning.  Our first stop was Sheel's Sporting Goods store.  There are several different statues in the front of the building.  This one is a fisherman catching a fish.  We did some other shopping and ate lunch at Panera.  It was a nice day for a drive to Springfield.

Day 246, Sunday, September 2, 2012

Spotted Cow Beer.  All the way from New Glarus, Wisconsin.  The Smith's like this beer for some reason.

Day 245, Saturday, September 1, 2012

I got an email from Flat Top Grill for my "free" anniversary dinner!  Don't mind if I do!

Day 244, Friday, August 31, 2012

Stacie had to decorate cupcakes for a baptism party.  She needed to make butterflies on the cupcakes.  I helped her by cutting them on my cricut.  She added a little rhinestone and made lavendar frosting!  They looked really cute!

Day 243, Thursday, August 30, 2012

We are having our fall fund raiser at school.  This is all of the penguins the students can choose from when they return their "coupons" for selling items.  These penguins are dressed up in their Halloween costumes!

Day 242, Wednesday, August 29, 2012

I just completed this canvas.  I saw one similar on Pinterest.  I painted it yellow with acrylic paint.  I cut all of the petals from scrap paper and glued them on the canvas.  It is 18 x 24 inches and now lives in our bedroom.

Day 241, Tuesday, August 28, 2012

I saw this idea in the very last issue of Scrapbook, Etc., magazine.  I didn't complete my canvas exactly like they did in the magazine, but I do like how mine turned out.  The one on the left is Jim and I at Mackinac Island in July.  The canvas on the right is of St. Pete Beach, when we went in July of 2009.  They are now hanging in my "beachy" bathroom!

Day 240, Monday, August 27, 2012

John and Stacie picked up their new car today.  It is really nice!
