Today was the first day of school. Not a great start for me. It was a really rough day. Anyway, it is over and I only have 174 more student attendance days! We got new lanyards to wear at school. We are trying to improve our security and will need to carry our building keys with us.

Coco and I went to puppy class. He is really such a good little guy, but he has some things to work on. We didn't have a good night! Another dog bit Coco's tail (and nipped my behind) during recess!! I knew the other dog was being aggressive, so I picked Coco up to walk around. He jumped up to grab Coco's tail and pulled his hair. Coco sat under my chair the remainder of class. Hope that dog doesn't come next week...we will leave if he does!!
I have been walking outside with Coco everyday. I bought new shoes to walk in. My other shoes were not giving me enough support and my feet were starting to hurt. I usually buy Nike's, but these are New Balance and I really like them. I'm sure part of it is because they are new, but they do come up a little higher on my ankles.
Pekin is known as the "Marigold Capital of the World". These flowers are not my favorite, however, I bought them because the buds were such a bright yellow color. I am surprised at the size of the flowers. They are as big as softballs! Love it!
We met the kids at Olive Garden for lunch today to celebrate John's birthday. I got my pedicure this afternoon. I usually have red polish, but went with a pink glitter polish this time. Nice for a change, but I will probably go back to the reds!
Stacie gave us tickets to the Chiefs game tonight. We haven't been to a game yet this summer. This team is now a farm club for the St. Louis Cardinals. Here is Jim enjoying his hot dog at the ball park. My favorite part was the fireworks after the game!
We rode our bikes down to the river front this morning. It is about a 5 mile ride down and back. We are standing on the platform on the sidewalk over the river. If you look back to day 112, there is a picture of this same spot, only this railing is almost underwater and there is a kayak where I am standing taking this picture. Amazing what water can do.
I went back to work today, after having 6 weeks off. It was a great summer and I was sad to see it end. We got new desks and new carpet at school. It took us most of the day to get everything back together again. Thanks to Mr. Goss for letting us get new digs!
Today we had a huge party at our house today! We celebrated John's complete response results! Goodbye Lymphoma...see ya NEVER! We think there were about 65 or 70 people from 2 to 4 p.m. It was awesome to see so many people gather together to celebrate with us. John had a smile on his face the entire afternoon! Love you, Johnny Mac! So happy you are feeling well again!
Peyton and I went to the zoo again, today. I wanted to see the tigers, again. All four of the cubs were still there. The zoo keeper told us they were going to ship the cubs to different zoos, soon. I was happy to see them one last time. Of course, we went to Avanti's for "You know", lunch!
I picked up Peyton to spend the afternoon together. I asked him what he wanted for lunch. He said, "You know." Avanti's? What are you going to eat? Again, he said "You know." Yes, I know, he wants spaghetti sauce and bread. I introduced him to this meal a few months ago...now that is all he wants to eat!
Today I reached 100,000 steps for one week! While we were in San Diego, we walked everywhere. Sometimes walking 18,000 to 21,000 steps a day. As you can see, John is right there with me. It makes me happy to see him walking this much everyday!
