Nate and I are going to try to grow some herbs. We did a whole bunch of errands today and two of the stops were at flower stands!

We lost power today, because a drunk driver hit this light pole a the end of our block. At least the power was back on before we got home from work.

We stopped in Springfield to visit the Paper Boutique and Scheel's. We ate lunch at Quaker Steak and Lube. I am posing with Gizzard Coop their mascot. We had a great BFF girl's weekend!

Cindy and I left at 7:30 this morning for Collinsville. We went to CKC to shop for scrapbook and stamping supplies. I am in the Button Farm booth. We bought this kit. We are spending the night and going to eat at Lotawata Creek.

At the carnival, a few students bought a chance to throw a pie in Mrs. Dietrich's face. It was whipping cream. The students really had a good time. I don't think Mrs. Dietrich will do that again!

I got to hold a baby duck this morning. Juju brought her ducks to school to Mrs. Goeken's second grade class. She is her sister. This duck has it's toenails painted blue to tell them apart. They are really soft, but they also bite!

This is what we found when we got home from work tonight. The wind was blowing really hard and this limb from our neighbor's tree landed on our shed and on top of the mower.

Jim, Nate and I went to the Riverfront Museum to see the Glass Blowing Demonstration. The students from SIU worked the glass from the hot furnace. Such beautiful things come from hot glass and cool air!

We rode the train downtown again today. We spent the majority of the day at the Art Institute. We walked up the street to "The Bean" and stopped at Garrett's Popcorn for a little treat.

We rode the train downtown. We spent the day at the Shedd Aquarium. We stopped at Willis Tower and went out on the Skydeck Ledge! I didn't look down.

We left this morning for a trip to Chicago. We stopped at IKEA. I love that store. It is so very colorful and there are so many ideas. I would love to start my house over and shop at IKEA!

We took the kids to see Crique D'Or, at the Civic Center this afternoon. While it wasn't as good as we had expected, it was still entertaining. We also ate lunch at 5 Guys.

We had a birthday party for Jim at Avanti's tonight. He will be 60 years old on Monday. There were 24 family members at the celebration. It was fun to see all the gag gifts he got. We had a really great time.

We had our school carnival after school tonight. I volunteered to help with a game. I helped the kids play the golf game. It was fun...like plink-o on The Price Is Right show.

There are 3 staples in this stapler. Nate has been playing a joke on a co-worker for several weeks. Each morning he puts just 3 staples in the stapler. When she starts doing paper work...it runs out EVERY day.

We are celebrating Read Across America Day as well as Dr. Seuss's Birthday. Jennifer dressed up as "The Cat In The Hat" and I dressed up as "Thing 1", with a notation that "Thing 2" was on medical on the back of my shirt! Mrs. Ransom won the prize for the door decorating contest.
