25 years ago today, the space Challenger exploded on take off. I remember watching the video many times over the next several weeks...each time in disbelief this happened. I was in the break room at Wal-Mart when I first heard about and saw the news announcing this disaster.

Day 27, Thursday, January 27
Day 26, Wednesday, January 26
This note and pair of jeans were laying on my table when I got home tonight. Nate wants me to repair the buttons on this pair of jeans. The problem is ... there is no fabric left where the button should be! And the back pocket is the same way...so I gotta figure out how to fix those. And that little striped epoxy square...Jim found it in his sock tonight! I don't know how it got there!

Day 22, Saturday, January 22
Today was the annual Eagle Census on the Illinois River. We boarded a bus downtown and drove out to Wesley road, where several telescopes were waiting....all focused in on the Bald Eagles who make their home on the Illinois River during the months of December through March. I took of "few" pictures but it was really hard to get a good one in focus because they were about 300 yards away in the tree tops. This is probably the best one....and there are TWO Bald Eagles setting out to fly. It was only about 20 degrees today...and I think it was even colder down by the water. We are planning to go Eagle watching again...hopefully, on a warmer day!

Day 17, Monday, January 17
This is my card for the February card swap. I used lots of different Stampin' Up supplies. I heat embossed the background with the Love definition stamp, cuttlebugged the kraft with a Sizzix Valentine Set, punched the scallop circle with the 2 3/8" punch, punched the hearts with two different punches, used the modern label punch and word window punch. Wow, that's a lot of punches! I inked the edges with aged mahogany. The challenge for the month was stitching....so I cross stitched with baker's twine down the side a little! Oh Boy! And rounded all the corners with a PUNCH!

Day 16, Sunday, January 16
Jim bought me a new thinksport bottle for Christmas! It is purple and I love it! He bought us each a thinksport bottle last year. I am amazed at how cold it will keep the drink in the bottle. I fill it up with ice in the morning and use it until I go to bed at night....and it still has ice in it! I always drink light raspberry lemonade, too!
Day 15, Saturday, January 15
Day 14, Friday, January 14
Tonight was Rivermen Hockey night! While we were at the game, we went to visit some friends who were sitting in another section. One of their little girls, just thought Jim was pretty cool! She sat and watched the zamboni's on Jim's lap and when we got up to leave...she followed him to the stairs. He picked her up and she gave him a hug and a kiss unprompted! He was thrilled!

Day 9, Sunday, January 9
This is what my "scrap cave" looks like now. I had a sewing table where the second shelf went...but I took it down and put my sewing machine and serger on the other shelving unit. I don't sew that much anymore...my machines are portable, so I can just put up my 4 foot table and set them on there. My scrap table is in a "U" shape...can't see it very well, but I love the way I have access to my computer, cricut and all the tools I use by just turning my chair! I spent the majority of my day...organizing everything...well, and doing laundry!
Day 8, Saturday, December 8
I got the bug to reorganize my scrap "stuff". I needed another heavy duty shelf. You know...all the paper is very heavy! So we went to Sam's tonight and bought another industrial size shelving unit. Each shelf is supposed to hold 600 pounds! The two bottom rows are completed scrapbooks. I was up until 2 a.m....working on this...but it looks so much better!

Day 3, Monday, January 3
This is a layout that I have been working on for a few days. I used my cricut to cut the penguins...used Design Studio to make their bodies using George ovals. I used Everyday Paper Dolls to make the hats and scarfs and Stretch Your Imagination to cut the sleds...adjusting the length and width to fit my fat little penguins. I cut the word "SNOW" with the Cuttin' Up cartridge, welding and adjusting the size to fit my title box in Design Studio. This layout is for a swap with my Chirpin' Chicks!

Day 1, Saturday, January 1
Happy New Year! Today is the first day of 2011! And today is the beginning of the third year I have taken a picture every day. This is a very important project for me...I think it is an amazing way to document our everyday life. This year, I will be doing a digital project 365, so I won't be printing pictures to go in an album. I will print a book at the end of the year. I have mixed emotions about this, because I like to look at the album as I go along. But I want to try the digital process this year!
Day 365, Friday, December 31
This is a re-enactment of the scene today...minus the rain, tornado sirens and lightening. As the story goes...Jim got up on the roof to take down the Christmas lights off the front of the house. It was 60 degrees today....so a good day to be outside. However, the wind kicked up...and blew the ladder down! I wasn't home and Jim didn't have his phone to call anyone for help. Then the rain came...tornado sirens...and finally the lightening! Jim was up there for 20 minutes and thought about jumping down....at least 3 times. The first time, the thought of a broken ankle...kept him on the roof, the second time...the thought of a broken leg...kept him on the roof, the third time...the thought of a broken hip...kept him on the roof. Finally, the neighbor saw him up there and waved at him. She came over and put the ladder back up on its legs so he could get down! He was completely soaked from the rain! I don't think he will get on the roof again when he is home alone....or at least he will have his phone!
We spent the evening at the hockey game and then went to Cindy and Eric's to celebrate New Year's Eve. We played cards, laughed and ate until 2011! It was a great ending to 2010!
