Day 59, Friday, February 28, 2025

We stayed at the cottage all day.  Jim rested and watched his heart rate.  I worked on Christmas cards.  We are going to stay until Monday and let him rest.  Joe offered to let us stay a few more days.  He wanted us to go to his uncles Mardi Gras party but we declined.

 

Day 58, Thursday, February 27, 2025

 

I got up at 7:15 and took Coco outside to potty.  When we came back inside, Jim was on his hands & knees in the bathroom because he was dizzy.  He was in Aflutter again.  His heart rate was up to 130 at 11:15 p.m.  I got him up and in the bed and got his meds.  It stayed in the 120's but he wasn't dizzy anymore.  I took him to the ER and they gave him meds IV but in the afternoon, they decided he should have a cardiac aversion.  They shocked him one time and he went from 120 to 68.  We got home about 5 p.m.  What a day!

Day 57, Wednesday, February 26, 2025

 

We went to Gulf Shores to get our oil changed.  Then to The Wharf to walk around.  The shopping center is very dog friendly!  We went to the Hangout to eat lunch and Coco was welcome to come with us on the patio.  I walked on the beach and fell in a tide pool with my rubber boots on!  It was 4 years ago minus one day that I fell on Orange Beach and destroyed my shoulder!

Day 56, Tuesday, February 25, 2025

 

We left for Daulphin Island about 9:30.  There was a tunnel under the bay, ugh!  It was closer to drive around the bay instead of taking the ferry from Fort Morgan.  We walked the beach for about an hour and then went to Fort Gaines.  We met a young man who took our photo at the entrance to the fort.  His name was Summit.  He is on a bike trek across the US.  We ate lunch at Dockside Seafood Restaurant.  It was really good!  We stopped at Daphne for Fresh Market baked potatoes and AMC popcorn.  It was a fun day!

Day 55, Monday, February 24, 2025

 

It was wet & rainy still today.  We went to Planet Fitness.  We got our hair cut at 3:30 and took Coco for a walk along the pier afterwards.

Day 54, Sunday, February 23, 2025

 

It rained ALL. DAY. LONG!.  Today was the first day that the weather here was about the same as home.  Coco didn't like the rain at all, never does!  We watched the new series with Tom Hanks, America's.  Stacie sent me this picture in a text!  I think she misses the boutique manager!

Day 53, Saturday, February 22, 2025

 

Today we went shopping for purses for Totes.  I had a budget in mind, but Jim said I didn't have a budget.  We went to the outlet mall to shop at Coach, Michel Kors, and Kate Spade.  I sent pictures to Stacie to approve before I bought them.  We had lunch at the Shrimp Basket again.  I bought Sketchers at the outlet and Jim got Krispy Kreme mini doughnuts.

Day 52, Friday, February 21, 2025

 

We stayed at home for most of the day.  Jim took his first dose of meds.  The Dr said it was ok to exercise but no alcohol. We tried to go to the park to walk, but it was very windy.  Coco loved the walk and all the sniffs!

Day 51, Thursday, February 20, 2025

 

We thought we could get Jim's meds after 10:15 a.m.  Nope, didn't get them, Daphne didn't have them, Foley said they did, but when we got there, they didn't have the total 90 count script.  The pharmacist finally gave us 30. We had dinner with Cindy and Angie at Cosmo's.  Very good food.  We ordered from the "Sunset Menu"!  Coco did ok in the kennel. He did bark but not the whole time we were gone.

Day 50, Wednesday, February 19, 2025

 

Today it was 6 degrees at home and 51 degrees in Fairhope.  We stayed at home all day because it was raining.  around 4 pm we went for a drive to Mullet Point Park.  It is a small park along the bay.  It was pretty but no beach to walk along or any paved paths.

Day 49, Tuesday, February 18, 2025

 

Jim will start a prescription to lower his heart rate.  We walked at the pier for a little while, today.  Coco loves walking there.  Joe, our neighbor and owner of the property we are staying at, brought us a piece of King cake.

Day 48, Monday, February 17, 2025

 

Jim's heart rate was in the 70's when we got up.  He called Dr Buddha's office at 8.  He got a message on my chart that his heart rate was 200 around 4/4:30 yesterday when he had the dizzy spell.  We will wait to see what they say when they return the call.  The flowers around the outside of the house are blooming!  Today, the temp was 35 degrees outside and windy again.

Day 47, Sunday, February 16, 2025

 

We went to Fairhope Beach to walk, but it was really windy.  The water was brown and very choppy.  Coco didn't slow down, sniffing from tree to tree to post.  Jim and Coco took a nap.  About 4/4:30 Jim had a dizzy spell.  His heart rate was up to 136.  He was very upset about this.  We ate dinner, but his heart rate was still off.  We watched SNL 50 year anniversary.  We were disappointed with the whole show.  It was fun to see the actors from the beginning of the show again, but the musical guests were not our style.  We went to bed early.

Day 46, Saturday, February 15, 2025

We had breakfast at Panini Pete's again.  I found another shirt at The Colony.  Jim dropped me off at the beginning of the Art's Alley so I could take some pictures of the murals.  We took Coco for a walk down by the pier.  We met several people walking their dogs, too.  Fairhope is very dog friendly.  Jim and Coco took a very long nap after our walk.  I did laundry and scrapbooked.

 

Day 45, Friday, February 14, 2025

 

Happy Valentine's Day!  We exchanged cards, went to Planet Fitness and took a trip to Daphne to do some shopping.  We went to Sam's, ate at 5 guys with Coco in his stroller, Hobby Lobby, TJ Maxx, AMC to get our popcorn bucket refilled, Fresh Market for twice baked potatoes and bacon & cheese burgers.  We went back to Fairhope on route 98.  Jim and Coco had a nap and I scrapped.  Jim got me flowers at Sam's!

Planet Fitness this morning, picked up pics from Walgreens.  Stacie posted our $50,000 donation to Illinois CancerCare from #Lymphoma Is A Loser!  So proud of our daughter and everyone who supports our fund raiser efforts!

Day 43, Wednesday, February 12, 2025

 

We left at 7:15 a.m., to go to Fort Morgan.  It was negative low tide, so hoping to find some good shells.  It was a RIP current, so the waves were super rough.  Not many shells, but we bought a retractable leash for Coco and he loved following all the sniffs. Jim kept him away from the wet sand, because there were a ton of jelly fish washed up.  We did some shopping at a thrift store, Krispy Kreme, Hobby Lobby, Starbucks and Five Guys.  Coco got his first Pup Cup at Starbucks, but didn't finish it!  It was 77 

degree's!

Day 42, Tuesday, February 11, 2025

 

We exercised at Planet Fitness this morning, stopped at Johnny Mac's to pick up Stacie's t-shirt.  I saw 2 adult deer in the yard this afternoon.  Walked at the Municipal Park and a few blocks on the Eastern Shore Trail.  Coco loved his ride in the Stroller.  We found "Steve", our turtle that was track off the coast of Florida again on the app.

Day 41, Monday, February 10, 2025

 

We went to Planet Fitness and of course Coco cried/barked.  We stopped at Pet Sense to get poop bags, because the ones I brought from home were not sealed correctly.  Jim got a venti green tea at Starbucks.  I spent the rest of the day, scrapbooking. Jim took a nap in the afternoon.  I had him order more adhesive refills from Amazon.  We watched the Voice at 7.

Day 40, Sunday, February 9, 2025

 

Today is Super Bowl Sunday.  We went to Planet Fitness, stopped at Wal-Mart to pick up a few things. No we didn't buy the brisket, but it would have qualified for Rob's criteria!  Coco barked off and on while we were gone.  We watched the Super bowl game, KC Chiefs lost to Philadelphia Eagles 22-40. (mostly, I watched the commercial's!)

Day 39, Saturday, February 8, 2025

 

We ate breakfast at Panini Pete's in the French Quarter.  Coco went with us and rode in the stroller.  We went to the pier for a walk as dogs are allowed in the park, but not in the water. We watched some guys wind surfing on the Mobile Bay.  We stopped at a coffee shop called "Johnny Mac's".  I called Stacie and told her about the shop.  She asked if they had any "swag".  We went back and I talked to the clerk.  I picked out some stickers.  They had some T-shirts, but not her size, so he said he would get one for her.  We will pick it up on Tuesday.

Day 38, Friday, February 7, 2025

 

We are enjoying the weather in Fairhope!  We went to Planet Fitness and Coco whined/cried off and on.  I checked out Goodwill for purses.  Went to Walgreens to pick up photos.  We ate lunch at the cottage.  We tried an experiment with Coco. We left him out of the kennel.  Jim left in the car and I went and sat out on the swing where Coco couldn't see me.  He cried and barked anyway, so being in the kennel isn't the problem. 5 guys for dinner.
